What’s Wonderful About Wednesday…

God’s Wonderful Sense of Humor…

I remember being a young girl and taking the church van to Sunday School.  I loved coming home in the van afterwards, singing “Yes, Jesus Loves Me” and sucking on lemon drops.  I’ll never forget his name, the driver, Mr. Ballard.  The memories as vivid as moments ago.

Sometimes, I feel that my spirituality and my relationship with “God” is right on track.  Other days, I just feel like we’re not “sync’d up” at all… almost like… “Where are you, God?  You there?  Hey… it’s me… I’m drowning here… life preserver would be nice about now..”  Ever have those days?

I know God gets a big kick out of watching me and my life… my life is really that bizarre!  And, today… he exposed his great sense of humor with me in what he provided to me… I could feel him chuckling!  It made me laugh at myself and smile all night.

Now, I’m not going to get all “preachy” on you… because many of us have different views of what and/or who “God” is.  I respect that.  My relationship with God has been on a long and winding road…

Sometimes, I blame him.

 Sometimes I praise him.

Sometimes, I am on my knees asking for his wisdom and strength.

Sometimes, I forget him.

Sometimes, I talk to him in the shower.

Sometimes, I laugh at his sense of humor.

Sometimes, I question his will for my life.

Sometimes, I question his existence.

Sometimes, I fall short.

Sometimes, I sin.

But, despite the foregoing, no matter where I am in my relationship with God… one thing remains constant.  HE NEVER LEAVES ME.  He’s always there for me even when I don’t feel him, even though I can’t see him, and even when I can’t touch him.  He’s just there.

What’s wonderful about Wednesday, is having God in my life.

Always, I will love him.

Thanks for sharing I needed to hear this today…just lost a sorority sister who was only 52 years old…she was well on Thursday…wasn’t feeling good on Friday so she went home early from work…Friday night she was rushed to the hospital because she had suffered a massive stroke…put on life support…on Monday she was gone…sigh…but I know that even through all the ‘i can’t believe this happened’…this is so surreal…that God is near…and his will was done…my girlfriend isn’t in pain and she’s not hooked up to any machines…but gosh are we going to miss her. Sigh.
But…yet he hasn’t left us…he’s there wrapping his hands around us…reminding us that he’s in control…and that he loves us and will help us weather this lose.

Thanks so much for posting this! I think we all go through the same ups and downs on our journey of faith, but it’s always good to know we’re not alone! And you definitely are right… HE NEVER LEAVES US. Boy, don’t I know that! 🙂

I think we’ve all had moments where we’re closer and some when we’re farther away but you’re right, God is always there, ALWAYS!
